Sharing Source

Have fun, create & share.

Purpose

The reason why we share source design

Straight from the start we wanted to make our benchtable open. By that we mean open for PC enthusiasts to modify and build upon. This allows owners and creatives to unleash the most amazing ideas they have, and then feed them back to the community, thus creating an endless cycle of improvement. And so we did.

On this page you will find licensing information of the source files, download options and the latest projects shared by community members. These files should serve as non-restrictive guidelines to your creativity. We look forward to seeing what you come up with.

The sources files are available for the Open Benchtable and the Open Benchtable Mini.

Have fun, create and share.

The Open Benchtable Team.

Usage

Various colors and flavors

The source files of the Open Benchtable come under various formats. They are basically all identical tables but usable and inspected to ensure the files work in several of the most common CAD software at this time.

We provide files in the following formats:

  • .stp (STEP) These are basically our originals.
  • .x_t (PARASOLID) Native format for NX, SolidWorks and a number of other programs.
    • You can open a .x_t file in SolidWorks for example without translating the data and save changes as .sldprt
    • This is not available for all version yet.
  • .skp (SKETCHUP) This is to make it easily editable in the best free CAD software you can find.

The files are provided ‘as is’, without any guarantee of support from us. Nevertheless, if you encounter issues or have any questions, you may be able to find some help on our forums.
